How to delete your account
From inside the app (easiest). Open UrgeLock, go to your profile / settings, and choose the delete-account option. This removes your account and community data from our servers and clears the data stored on your device in one step.
If you no longer have the app installed. Email us at support@urgelock.app from the device or with enough detail for us to find your account, and we will delete it for you. Because UrgeLock does not require a name, email, or password, accounts are pseudonymous, so if you used the community please include your community handle (and anything else that helps us identify you) in your message. We will action your request within 30 days.
What gets removed
When your account is deleted, we remove from our servers:
- Your UrgeLock account (the anonymous sign-in identity);
- Your community posts, comments, and reactions;
- Your pseudonymous community handle;
- The server-side identity tied to your community activity.
What stays on your device
Your core recovery data never leaves your phone, so we cannot delete it remotely, because there is no copy of it on our servers. This includes your streak and pledges, your urge log and journal notes, your mood check-ins, your achievements, and your conversation history with the AI guide (Locky). To remove all of it, delete the UrgeLock app from your device (or use the "clear my data" option inside the app). Uninstalling removes this on-device data with the app.
Subscriptions
If you have a paid subscription, it is billed and managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by UrgeLock. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription and does not trigger a refund. To stop being billed, cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through.
